Colorstreet is an innovative beauty brand that strives to support and empower a person's spirit and individuality through easily applicable, colorful nails. Creating intimate relationships with stylists, Colorstreet celebrates entrepreneurs and inspires shared growth.
Onboarded as a member of the creative department, I had an opportunity to work closely with the marketing department to deliver design elements that align with the brand's identity and appeal to the customers and the stylists. From email header and footer layouts to web banners of different frame sizes, I took part in various aspects of design.
Collaborating with existing designers in the creative department, I created various digital assets for the company such as email header/footer, weekly web banners, promotional emails, and gift cards. The pleasant challenge I experienced was to design under the brand's guideline for consolidating identity, while simultaneously rendering designs that are visually attractive and engaging.
As part of the website relaunch, I created low to high fidelity wireframes and mock-ups of the additional features that will be included for better user experience and functionality.
Throughout the project, my primary goal was to ensure clear, intuitive navigation flow and implement user-friendly features that enhance the overall experience of a user. In order to reinforce brand identity, strong emphasis on color code was always considered.
My first internship as a graphic & UI/UX designer at Color Street was an extremely meaningful and grateful experience as a designer. Under the guidance, I was encouraged to exercise my visual design abilities in accordance to Color Street's brand identity and practice creating clear yet effective interfaces that communicate/intrigue customers. While doing so, I became more proficient with design softwares including Adobe CC, Figma, and Blender; by discovering quicker and more productive ways of the ins-and-outs of these softwares as well as stressing more efficient ways for customers' experience on the company website, I truly believe that the internship experience was foundational in developing as a designer.
My favorite project was creating the prototypes of the new website. Conducting market research to understand how other websites are providing enjoyable experience to their users, I was able to integrate helpful features that will assist users better through Color Street. I also enjoyed the task to maintain the brand identity. Staying consistent with the previous color palette of the website allowed me to stress for ways to bring necessary changes while prioritizing the "original" looks and feels.
Luckily, after the internship, I was offered to prolong my position at Color Street. I contributed to as their part-time designer until October, and I cannot thank them enough for teaching me immensely and motivating me to grow as an aspiring UX designer.
